Popcorn Sales Beginning-This Saturday the 24th

Posted on Sep 22 2016 - 10:12am

All right scouts and parents, let's keep the enthusiasm from last night's pack meeting rolling.

Below is the link to the sign up genius to sign up for time slots and sell Popcorn! Pick a time that needs a scout and show up when you signed up. Suzanne will be reviewing the Genius to tell her what time to have popcorn there. Two scouts at one time works well at Lowes. Three can work, but 4 is too many.

Just like Suzanne said, please wear your class A uniform and espcially the hat (it helps them instantly recognize you are a cub scout).

Then practice what you are going to say. A phrase that has worked before is "Hello, my name is Nicholas and I am a cub scout. Would you like to support the scouts by buying some popcorn or by making a donation today?"

Have fun doing this. Try to make it a non-competitive game where both boys win if they get a sell.

One last note, please be weary any time you get a $50 or $100. Please have an adult hold it up and look for the water marks inside. Last year we recevied a counterfit $50.

Skeeter's Game Friday August 5th

Posted on Jul 22 2016 - 4:46pm

PACK 598 - It's that time of year again !

The annual Sugarland Skeeter's Scout Night Out is Friday August 5th.  Pack 598 will again be participating, and we need to get an initial headcount so that tickets can be reserved.  If you have not yet been to this event, it is a lot of fun for all ages.  Please reply directly to John Zarnowiecki  zarnowiecki1@slb.com  with how many from your family will be in attendance, and if you will also camp on the field after the game.  As a reminder, the Pack will cover the ticket for all Scouts to the game or game + camp-out.  If you are only coming to the game, the Pack will also cover the ticket for an additional family member.

If you have not yet been to this event, it is a very unique, and very Texas experience.  We will send out another note with more details on the evening as we get closer to the event.  This initial inquiry is request for an estimated headcount.   Thanks - and get ready for another GREAT YEAR of CUB SCOUTING !

Awards Picnic update

Posted on May 13 2016 - 9:11am

Due to the recent flooding our picnic has been relocated. It has been moved to Nottingham Park 14205 Kimberly Ln.

It is still Saturday, May 21st from 3:00-6:00.

Because of the location change we will have to do things a little differently. We won't have the pavilions with tables so please bring camping chairs. Also, just like campouts, please bring your mess kits.

The pack will be providing hot dogs and hamburgers and a few sides, but we would ask families to bring desserts to celebrate our successful year.

The roads around this park are very busy so we would like to request for you to leave bicycles at home. Please bring outdoor items to keep your scouts busy.

I would suggest sunscreen as there isn't much tree cover and bug spray for mosquitos (not caterpillars).

Also, we will have a box to collect all unsold coupon books. Please put the books in a Ziplock with the scout's name on the outside so we can complete the turn in and the pack can get paid for our efforts.
